About

After one year of countless hours of blood, sweat and laughter (sometimes crazy laughter), Russet and Jerah decided to take year two for ecovogue365™ in a new direction. We realized “eco” is an interpretive concept in the fashion world. For us, we found our eco in convertible designs. Designs that can be worn many ways means a closet of less unworns, more fashion inspiration, and a demand for new eco materials from the market. We also take pride in the handsewn lifestyle, and are working on bringing it back, closer to our own community through a newly launched Garment District that will host DIY classes and potentially a sewing factory for us.

Today, based on popular demand from our fans, we are re-launching ecovogue365™ as a concept that supports only convertible (multifunctional) designs, that are handmade by talented designers, with a limited 365 editions to keep with our philosophy of small quantities, high quality.

Russet is our in-house designer for ecovogue365™ designing clothing concepts that will wrap, strap, convert, revert and morph into anything you can imagine. Jerah is our curator of all things eco-convertible with the goal of using her huntress skills to bring you worldwide designers that adhere to our philosophy.

OUR BEGINNINGS

ecovogue365™ started in January 2010 with mother and daughter setting out to create a meaningful lifestyle in an industry they both love and find wasteful: fashion. With 30 years of informal fashion and sewing experience, Russet Coviello (mother), merged her talents with her 30 year old daughter, Jerah Coviello, who just finished a 10 year stint working with various nonprofits missions. Both set out be game changers.

They launched an ecopreneurial project ecovogue365™ with the mantra, “1 year, 2 pledges, 3 collections” where for one year Russet and Jerah pledged to themselves and their company to conceptualize, design, sew, market and educate themselves on what it takes to ‘be’ a sustainable fashionista for 3 separate collections, the ButterfliBOBO and Ripe.

Supporting the slow sew movement, Russet & Jerah wanted to produce fashion with a purpose: slowly & limited. For the 365 calendar year, Russet pledged to design & sew a new garment each week for the BOBO – Bodacious Bohemian- Collection out of reclaimed materials. Jerah pledged to wear one convertible design her mom designed and sewed for 365 days showcasing the Butterfli Collection while building upon the ways to wear the design through friends and educating their following about sustainable fashion through a blog. Their last collection, RIPE was a chance to showcase artists designs from around the world on 100% organic cotton tee shirts made in North America. The concept became known as ecovogue365.
